From an E-mail I sent out on October 12th 2014

To a bunch of people I care about and thought might be interested in hearing about what I’ve recently experienced God do right before my eyes.

Gods been blowing my mind recently and I’m trying to keep a detailed log of the events so I never forget them. I felt like I should share my experiences to encourage everyone to seek Him with a greater intensity no matter where you are in relation to Him.  He’s absolutely amazing! (James 4:8)

Here are 3 examples over the past few days where the Holy Spirit came and changed people’s view of how real He is in a matter of moments.

 Thursday 10/9: Basketball night:

We were getting ready to start playing ball, one of the guys walked onto the court and told me his back was in pain. It had been hurting for a few days and said he’d been hobbling around most of that day. I asked him to step over to the side of the court with me and asked him if I could pray for his back. He was surprised at the request but agreed. I prayed, I felt the presence of Holy Spirit (so I knew something was happening). I asked him to check it out. He moved around, stretched and asked me “What did you do to me?” Lol. Pain level went from initially a 10 to a 2 (improved by 80% instantly). He was absolutely amazed. Later he told me he felt increased warmth in that location during the prayer. We talked briefly after that but I had to jump on the court to play. He was able to play ball throughout the night. 🙂

He wound up leaving before I could talk to him again so I called him after basketball. On the phone he said he couldn’t believe what happened. I got to briefly talk to him about the journey God has taken me on to understand some Biblical truths that apply today. He shared with me that he’s been in a place of searching for a sense of spirituality. He said he hasn’t been to church in a long time. It gave me the opportunity to talk about Jesus and His love for him was more than he could imagine and that this was mean’t to happen to fulfill his search. That God’s pursuing him and this was His way of saying here I am.

Friday 10/10: At work; end of the day 5:00:
I got into a conversation with a coworker and she told me her back was hurting, she threw it out earlier in the week. I had shared the basketball testimony with her and asked if she was ready to get prayer for her back. She agreed. Lol.  I asked Holy Spirit to come, prayed for healing. I asked her what she felt; she said it was hard to describe but was like a fluttering warmth through her body. She’s never experienced anything like it before. Her pain level also went from a 10 to a 3 immediately.

It gets better, (total orchestration by God) another coworker came over and jumped into our conversation. He had a bad car accident in the past, I believe a few vertebrate were severely damaged. Used to play basketball etc but has been sidelined for years. Doctor said he should have surgery and have a rod put in his back. I expressed my belief that God can do anything and asked if he was willing to let me to pray for his back. He said why not I’ll take anything. Lol. This is in the aisle of cubicles I work in every day. I prayed, asked him to move around and test it out, the look on his face was priceless. I love Jesus man. He said he felt no pain but will really test it out over the weekend when he does yard work.  He also said he felt warmth on the lower part of his back where I had my hand but he said he also felt it on the upper spine where he didn’t even tell me to pray. Amazing God

God can Ephesians 3:20 anytime, anywhere. He’s teaching me so much about how he wants to reach out and show His love to those around us  (Ephesians 2:4). It’s a level of love and fulfillment that can’t be found anywhere else. He wants to move through His people (2 Chronicles 16:9). Our job is reach out through words and/or prayer, His is to heal and transform. (Mark 16:15-20, 1 Corinthians 2:1-5)

There was a lot more to all of these conversations but for the sake of time I tried to put in the important points. I am humbled, grateful and fired up!! All Praise to King Jesus.

Pursue Jesus every day, there is nothing like walking with Him.

John
