Christmas tree shopping

Christmas tree shopping this year took place at the near by Hewitts (a local garden center). We were there for a just enough time for Melani to get cold enough to say, “Ok let’s just pick one!” Lol.

I had been praying today for God to open up opportunities for Him to reach people through me.  After we picked out the tree, two high school kids came out to tie the tree to my car. I felt like I needed to start a conversation with them so I told them how much I appreciated them for helping out because I had injured my shoulder last week playing basketball. After I said that, one of the guys started telling me how he tore a muscle in his upper back while wrestling a couple years ago. He said it still bothers him and he even was just about to start PT to instigate quicker healing.

After they wrapped up I told him God has been doing some cool things before my eyes and asked what his faith background was; he actuallly said he loved God. I asked if I could pray for him quickly and he agreed. I had him find the pain and he did pretty easily. I prayed one time, then had him try to find the pain again. He looked at me with big eyes and said, “What did you do”? It was gone! (Luke 9:1-2, 6; Matthew 28:20)

The fact that he experienced something he couldn’t explain gave me the opportunity to speak to how it happened. The answer is in the Gospel message of Jesus. Afterwards he expressed a sincere interest in checking out our church. God continues to amaze.’

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)..

Pursue Jesus, it’s so worth it.

John
